MIRAMAR CLUB'S REPORT
The annual report o£ the Miramar Rugby football Club shows that the club made excellent headway iv its first year o£ activity, the support from players and other enthusiasts being far greater.: than was anticipated. Five teams were entered in the Wellington , Rugby . Union's championship competitions, and some splendid performances were achieved. The seventh A team was unfortunate in not winning the .grade championship:"owing"to a technical point," but it was.awarded the Tutt Cup for the best performance of the club's teams. With regard to the seventh B grade team, it is , stated that in ';one department of the gaiiie—defence—the showing by this young team was'an object lesson to all. The other grades iv which the club was represented were junior, intermediate, und fifth. There was a good deal of activity on the social side, and this added greatly to the success, of the first year's' operations. "Taking into consideration the excellent performances put np by the first fifteen, and also the fact that numerous new players are anxious to join up with the club this year," the report states, "the committee feels justified in recommending to the incoming committee that the'club rise to senior B status, and. also enter teams, in every other championship grade this season." Special mention is made of the spade work put in by the club captain, Mr. U. P. Calciiiai, and appreciation is expressed of the assistance given by many other enthus-. ia'sts.
