(Received 20th February, 10 a.m.) LONDOtf, 19th February. U Albert Hall, tho East End boxer, Kid Berg, defeated the California^ Mushy Callahan in a contest oi nitoen rounds. It was a ■ junior welterweight contest. Callahan retired in tho tenth with a broken nose. He had five times previously successfully defended the world title. His supporters, and also Berg's, contend that it was a championship fight, despite Callahan's, deposition prior to going to- London.,

It does not matter much whether it was a championship contest or not. Tho junior welterweight division is recognised only by a section of Amwi■an boxing and nowhere else m the world It was ono of Tex Eickard's creations, and there' .seems to bo no reason for its existence.-' Aoneas.
