NEW PLYMOUTH WORKS

NEW PLYMOUTH, 17th Feb.
The statement was made at a meeting of tho New Plymouth Borough Council lasf'night that men were coming to town with the object of obtaining employment on the sewerage works about tp be undertaken. The Mayor said that tho council was pledged to employ local men, and already it' was known that twice as many men as were required were available. It had somehow got abroad that there would be a great demand for men, but he felt it necessary to wawi outsiders it was utterly useless coining to New- Plymouth.
