BLASTING STUMPS
A GRAZIER KILLED

GREYMOUTH, 17th February.
A grazier, John Lyes, aged about 65, was killed to-day at a sluicing claim at Coal Creek, near Greymouth, where he worked occasionally. He left home intending to blast somo stumps adjacent to the face, and the stumps fell upoti him with fatal effect. His body was found by a neighbour at (> p.m. Deceased was single, and lived with his sister. An inquest will be held tomorrow. . |
