THE MAUI POMARE'S ITINERARY

The.Chamber of Commerce last night received a letter from'the Prime Minister in answer-to. its complaint, stating that the Chamber was under a complete misapprehension in stating that a contract had been entered.into by the 090k Islands Department for the supply of 4500 cases of ■ Samoan bananas to South Island fruit brokers.
Mr. Allen, the chairman, said it looked as though a definite contract had been entered into, but it seemed that, shortly after, control was transferred to another Department, and thus the Government had been able to abrogate it. Influence w,as being used, but they had to fight,it and let the Government know that they w-ere determined to have the arranged itinerary of the Maui Pomaro adhered to.
