THE COAL DEADLOCK

STATE MINISTRY'S PLANS

REOPENING ROTHBURY

(Eeeeived 9th December, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

The Northern miners, with the exception of a few small lodges, have rejected the terms approved by the min> ers' delegates. The Rothbufy miners, however, are demanding a secret ballot. The Minister of Mines, Mr. Weaver, has received applications from skilled miners sufficient to man Rothbury and another mine a similar size. If there is no prospect of the miners resuming work, the Government will man the mines, and if the miners refuse work that is offered them, the Government will withdraw the dole.
