FURTHER FEDERAL EFFORT

SYDNEY, Bth December.

There was no development in the coal position yesterday, but it is expected that the whole of the miners' lodges will have held their meetings for consideration of the peace terms by Tuesday.

The Federal Government is greatly concerned at the miners' hostility to any form o£ compromise, and it is believed that another effort will be made early in tho week to bring the parties together.

A mass meeting of miners in the Newcastlo area yesterday almost unanimously rejected the peace terms.
