WINDY AT MIRAMAR
The Scots College playing field presented an animated scene this morning, when a start was made with the schools' thirteenth annual athletic sports. Heavy rain had caused the sports to be postponed from last week, but. bright sunshine was the order to-day, the only disconcerting feature being a strong northerly blowing across the field. The results of this morning's events were as follow:— Preparatory School 100 yds Championship.—First heat: Vivian, 1; M'Kenzie, 2. Second heat: Flipp (2), 1; Bryant, 50yds Handicap (under 14).—First heat: Philp (2), 1; Clarke, 2. Time, 7i sec. Second heat: Newdick, 1; Wallace, 2. Time 6 l-ssec. Third heat: Barber, 1; Land and Cross (tie), 2. 100 yds Handicap (under 13).—First heat: Clark, 1; Vivian, 2. Time 14 1-5 sec. Second heat: Mexted, 1; Lambourg, 2. Time, 14 3-osec. Third heat: Palethorpe, 1; Leuchars, 2. Time lo l-ssee. 100 yds Intermediate Handicap — First heat: Ellis, 1; House, 2. Time, 12 I 3-ssee. Second heat: Thomas 1-Kitch-iug, 2. Time, 12 l-ssec. 880 yds Senior Handicap.—Crow 1Richardson, 2; Lindop, 3. Time, 2min -Jsec.
