NEW MEASURE IN BRITAIN

LONDON, 30th November,

The Government Boad Traffic Bill has been introduced in the House of Lords. The main proposals are the abolition of the speed limit of twenty miles an hour, fixing a speed limit of thirty miles .for motor coaches and no speed limit for light cars and motorcycles, with heavy penalties for careless and dangerous driving. Applicants for driving licences must make a declaration of physical fitness. There is provision for compulsory insurance against third party risks. The Minister of Transport will i^sue a highway code applicable to all road users, including pedestrians.
