LABOUR CAMPAIGN

To-morrow night Mr. W. Nash, the Labour candidate, will open his campaign with an address at the Labour Hall, Petono. The Mayor of Petone (Mr. D. M'Kenzie) will preside. Mr. Nash will explain his election policy and will elucidate important planks of the Labour Party's platform. He will also reply to the statement of the Eight Hon. J. G. Coatos regarding the wages of Public servants. Unemployment, conditions on the relief works under both Reform and United Governments, and unemployment insurance will also be dealt with.

Mr. Nash is advertised to give a complete reply to Mr. Goates's statement on the wages of Public employees and to expose Reform Party tactics. Mr. Nash will speak at the Railway Workshops at noon on Friday. Openair meetings in support of Mr. Nash will be held in Petone, Lower Hutt, and Moera on Friday evening. He will speak in King George Theatre Hall, Lower Hutt, on Monday evening next at 8 o'clock. Sir Alexander Roberts, Mayor of Lower Hutt. will preside.

Despite the boisterous weather, the Eastbourne Borough Council chamber was well rilled with friends and supporters of Mr. Nash last night. Mr. Battersby presided. Mr. Nash, in his address, dealt with various portions of his election policy. A resolution pledging support to Mr. Nash's candidature was carried unanimously, and a large number of those present expressed their willingness to join Mr. Nash's election committee.
