WHIPPET CLUB'S MEETING

Arrangements have been made by the Wellington Whippet Racing Club to run its second meeting of the season at Athletic Park next Saturday afternoon. Entries have been received from Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Falmerston North, and there will be a large number of local dogs taking part in the various races, chief of which will be the Summer Cup. Evidence of the spectacular and thrilling nature of this sport was given at the previous meeting, when one ot the features was the hurdle racing. At next Saturday's meeting there will be double the number of hurdle races, and, with excellent provision for racing on the flat, the sport should be even more entertaining than it was at the first meeting. Several of the best whippets in the Dominion will be seen in action.
