FOR DUAL USE

DEFENCE AND COMMERCE

ARMY MOTOR TRACTORS

HELPING BRITISH INDUSTRY.

(United Press Association.—Copyright) (Deceived 24th November, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, 23rd November. Tho "Daily Telegraph's" military expert, commenting on tho Dominion delegates' interest in the sii-wheeled motors convertible to caterpillar traction, seen at Camberley, says: — "Many times Australia's sixty-two battalions of a citizen forco of infantry would be utterly inadequate to defend the Australian Continent, but sixty-two battalions :of machine-guns in cross-country carriers would be capable of such rapid concentration and movement that no invading army of infantry or cavalry could hope to make effective headway. By encouraging their use for commercial purposes, for which they are most economical, the Dominions would help the British motor industry, and while facilitating the mechanilisation of both armies, it would be a valuable line of true Imperial co-operation."
