Y. GYM. CARNIVAL.

The 350 members who are to perform at the Grand Opera House on Saturday and Monday have been trained by Mr. J. A. Duffy, the well-known exponent of physical culture, with a view of creating an impression which will put the 1926 carnival ahead of his previous successful attempts. Everything that is modern in gymnastic skill will be shown. The programme will open with a grand march. This in itself is a thrilling sight, and patrons are sure of a thrill when they see the 350 pupils march on the stage to the accompaniment of New Zealand's "Festival March." The ladies' section will as usual occupy a large part of the programme. The girls will be seen in gymnastic dancing, which, unlike most forms of dancing, requires agility and stamina. The Governor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson) intends being present on the opening night. Patrons are asked to book seats early.
