Fourth Grade. '
Petone A and Melrose provided the second curtain-raiser to the Athletic-Varsity game at Athletic Park. In the first spell play was very even, each side scoring three points. Petone put on a further eight points in the second half, but Melrose were unable to add to their tally. The game thus ended: Petone 11, Melrose 3. Wellington A 10, Eastbourne 8. Intermediate Grade. Hutt 35, Karori 3. Sixth Grade. Levin High School 9, Selwyn Sixths 6. House Matches. P. Hayman and Co. defeated Combined Druggists by 30 points to 3. ' W.C.C. Motor Transport fifteen defeated the Army Service Corps by 14 points to 0. Tries were scored for the winners by Capes, Gambitsky, Letham, and Bell, I_. M'Cabe converting one. The losers scored two penalty goals.
