BERHAMPORE LOSE TO HUTT.

Having in mind a possible .rearrangement of teams in the senior A and B grades next season, Hutt attached a good deal of importance to their match with Berhampore at Newtown Park. The suburban team proved to be in good trim, and, in Bpite of the fact that they played five juniors, were able to record a win by 6 points to nil. Several familiar faces .were missing from the Berhampore team, .which likewise had to draw upon junior men. These younger players gave a good account of themselves, and filled the gaps In the ranks with credit. Although not of a brilliant order, play .was fast, and interesting throughout. From.

the kick-off Hutt set the pace, and for some time were on the attack. Their movements lacked the necessary finish, however, and within the first fifteen minutes they had hard luck on several occasions in not scoring. Then a chance came to them in Mie way of a penalty kick, but although it was an easy shot, Bonnetti was unable to add the three points. Berhampore took a hand in the attack for a time, but H.utt were on the offensive again before the end of the spell, and Fawcett emerged from a melee ou the Berhampore line to score a good try. There was no conversion. Owing to Balks retiring with an injured knee, a slight alteration was made in the formation of t; Hutt backs in the second half. In this session Berhampore showed up a little better, and there were times when they missed going across for a try by a very narrow margin. Hutt were in winning mood, though, and kept on the ball well. By means of a strong forward attack Hutt had Berhampore penned in their twentyfive. Here the Blues were penalised, and Berntsen landed a good goal. In the concluding stages Hutt attacked with determination, but there was no further scoring, and the game ended: Hutt 6, Berhampore 0. Mr. G. W. Rathbone was referee.
