A DISMAL SCENE

MAHENO'S DEPARTURE POST-

PONED,

There is no change in the position regarding the Mahono. Many who had remained on board all night had faint hopes that the "essel might have been dispatched this morning. The vessel ,was shaduled to leave at 10 a.m., and then her departure was postponed till noon. At. that hour, however, she showed no sign .of moving, and there ■were many conjectures made by her disappointed passengers as to what time .she would sail finally. Tho scene at the wharf was a dismal one. Every now and again someone would walk along the deck to glance at the notice board at the head of tho gangway, but their curiosity was soon satisfied, for at 12.30 p.m. it was announced that the vessel would not sail till 11 a.m. on Monday. .
