WAIMAKARIRI RIVER

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, 31st August. At a public meeting held to protest gainst the immediate passing of the Waimakariri River Protection Bill, the following resolution was adopted for forwarding to the Prime Minister:— "That this meeting is of opinion that the City of ChristchureU is- entitled to greater representation on the "Waimakariri Biver Trust, and that provision should be made in the present Bill to give Christchurch more adequate representation, so that at least five members be provided for the city."
