Mr. Herbert Samuel, Poßtm^ster>General, has written to the Marconi "Wii'e. lens Telegraph Company, stating that the delay in ratifying the contract is very regrettable, but the contract provides for the approval of (he House of Commons and consequently there is j\d adequate reason for releasing ihe com* pany from its obligation.
