PETONE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.

The final meeting of the present committee of the Petone District High. School was held at Petone last evening. Mr. M'Kenzie presided. A complaint was received from Mr. Barlow to the effect that surface water from the school ground was an annoyance to his tenants. It was resolved to inform the Education Board that it was responsible for tne' grading of the ground, and that the committee would look to it to rectify the trouble. The annual report to be presented at the householders' meeting next Monday, night states that steady progress, with the careful administration of the finances, has been made. There have .also been many improvements effected to"the school, building. The balance-sheet shows that the total receipts amounted to £352 15s 9d, while the expenditure was £319 7s 9d This leaves a credit balance of £13 7* lOd.
