DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP.
[BY TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.^ DUNEDIN, 21st April. - The Australasian championship, draughts tournament was continued today, when the fourth round was commenced, Brodie meeting Penman in the* winners' class and Hilliker meeting Egsm in the losers' class. In the contest between Brodie and Penman, the former won the first game, the second and thivdi were drawn, a-nd the fourth was won by, Penman. The last game occupied about! two hours and a-half, and Penman wa.a heartily applauded at the conclusion. In the losers' claee Hilliker and Egani played four drawn games. The handicap, tournament was concluded to-day, when Bruce met Keenan, and Carswell met Matheson. Bruce won one game and lost one to Keenan, and Matheson scored) a win and had a draw against Carewell. Following are the scores : — Bruce 16g! points, Matheson 16, Hutton 12i, Lang 1%, Keenan 12, Moore IH, Bottmg 11, Gillies 10, Penman 9, Carswell 9, Morris 6£ > Edwards s^. 4
