Captain Lucas, recently appointed to the clerkship of the Legislative Council, has resigned, and Mr. Leonard Howe has been appointed in his place. The steamer Kangatira, Captain Mundle, from Hokitika and Nelson, arrived in port this afternoon, in ballast. She brought no passengers.
