This afternoon, in the Legislative Cduncil, the Hon. J. C. Richmond, Colonial Secretary, stated that in consequence of a resolution unfavourable to the policy of the Government having been carried last night in the House of Representatives, the Ministry had placed their resignation in the hands of his Excellency the Governor, and that Mr. Weld, during his last interview with his Excellency the Governor, recommended that Mr. Stafford should be sent for to form a Cabinet.
