DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Trustees was held in the Committee Boom, Town Hall, on Monday evening, the 6th inst., at 8 p.tr. Present : Messrs J. Hickson, Chairman; Macgeorge, Crawford, Joss, and J. E. Stevens, Treasurer.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Inward and outward correspondence was J"*-, read, received, and adopted. ' Visiting Committee reported having visited the Institution during the month, and found everything working satisfactorily. They complained, however, of horses still being allowed to roam in the hospital grounds ; further reported that they had not had the bins fixed up in store room as price quoted was too high. The report was received, and it was resolved to enquire of other carpenters what they would charge for the work. The sub committee apoointe I to on the fencing stated that they had nothii asyel to report, and would not be able until such time they were in possession of a - plan of the ground. The Secretary said he had written to the Surveyor General, Wellington, asking for a plan. Eesolved : That application be made to the Waste Lands Board for a reserve of land tor the Hospital of about 15 acres. Accounts amounting to Lsl 17s 8d for salaries and supplies for the past month, and Li 7 6s 6d on account oi water works, were passed for payment. The Treasurer’s report was read and res* ceived. The Surgeon’s report was read and re-ceive-1. Mr t. T). Macgeorge was elected member of the Visiting Committee, vice Mr Crawford, retiring. Resolve 1 : I hat advertisements be inseited in Auckland 1 New Zealand Herald,’ Wellington ‘New Zealand Times,’ ‘Lyttelton Times,’ ‘Otago Gaily’ Times,’ and Dunstan Times, inviting applications for Berident Suigoon, etc. [vide advt.) Resolved : That copies of Bye laws be supplied to all subscribers of LI and upwar's.

Resolved: That scales of charges for the admission of patients be advertised in the Dunstait Times. The Secretary was instructed to apply for some copies of the Acts of 1885 and 1886 relating to hospitals. The meeting then closed.
