CLARK AND RYMAN’S COMEDY COMPANY.

Messrs Clark and Ryman’s American Comedy Company made their first appear* ance in Alexandra on Wednesday evening, being honored with a laige audience. The entertainment opened with a very humorous comedy, in which Mr Clark kept the house in roars of laughter assisted by Miss Linden and Mr J. P Hennessy. After an intermission, Mr and Mrs Clark appeared in their musical and mystic change sketch, introducing the jolly old couple, Mr and Mrs Malone; song and dance by Mr Clark, the Dandy Copper; convulsing the audience with laughter. Mrs Clark’s flag song, wound >p the interlude. The performance con,--cluded with a screaming farce entitled “■Rumpus,’’ in which Mr J. F. Hennessy,

who left a great impression here as to his

abilities some few months since with Miss Georgie Smithson, created roars of laughter as Cupid. The entertainment is cleverly humorous, Mr Clark and Mr Hennessy being the two greatest comedians that has ever visited the goldfields. Mr Clark i* also a capital, and undoubted au expert step dancer. Mrs Clark sings well, and her accompaniments upon harp and banjo impart a pleasing novelty into the perfor-

mance. It is without doubt the beat company that has visited the goldfields for a lone time. They played again last evening to a very gooa house, the audience being most enthusiastic in expressing its appreciation of the performance by applause of the

most vigorous kind. The company appea at Clyde this (Friday) evening, and it is to he hoped that they will meet with every
