DUNSTN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The customary monthly meeting of the Committee of Management, adjourned from the 6th inst,, was held in the committee room of the Public Library, Clyde, on Saturday evening last, the 10th inst. Present: Messrs M. J. Maoginnis (in the Chair) Crawford, Attfield, Sims, Miles, and Geo. Faohe, Secretary. The ■ minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence inward and outward were read and received.

The Secretary said he had written to all holders of subscription lists with a request that they return same with amounts collected, but had received only one reply. He said if they • were not returned so as the amounts could be included in the balance sheet for the year, the omission would reflect somewhot on the executive officers, and subscribers whuld have reason to complain of the omission of their subscriptions from the annual report,: in which it was customary to embojly the names of all subscribers and the amounts of their subscript tiona. After someH disciasibn it was resolved that the Secretary be again to write alj. holders of subscription lists, with a request that they be returned in time to be included in annual report, also that lists be sent to all the sheep stations in the district, asking that they be laid before the shearers and. other employees, The Secretary stated that the Hon Colonial Secretary, during the past month, bad visited the institution, and had requested that certain information lie supplied him. It was resolved that the information be supplied. It was generally regretted that his visit had not been more extended, and that be had not given the committee notice so that some of the officers or members of th :.committee could have accompanied the honorable gentleman.

Visiting Committee’s No. 1 report was read and received. It reported that everything in connection with the institution was working satisfactorily, and that W. Pra-er, Esq., Earnsoleugh Station, the President, had intimated to the wardsman that he could have as much fruit as he liked for jam for the gathering of same ; also that Mr A ttfield and Mr Thompson had presented some lamb, and Mr Wilson, of Yankee Fiat, a goose, during the Christmas holidays.

Resolved : That the thanks of the committee be recorded to the above named gen tlemen for their presents.

Visiting Committee’s report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past month, amounting to L 57 18a 2d was read and received.

The Trearnrer's report, showing a debit balance of LI 15 16s 3d, was road an I received. The Secretary said that the amount would he materially decreased when the outlying lists and the monies in the hands of various parties were handed in, with all he thought the debit balance would not exceed L4o. Mr Crawford here handed in L 5 15s collected by him during the past few weeks on the Clyde commonage. The Surgeon’s report was read and received.

Mr Cambridge was re-elected member of the Visiting Committee. Tenders for supplies for the six months ending July 12 wore opened and the following accepted : Groceries, Wines and spirits, etc.,—B. Naylir. Coals—J. Holt, accepted C. T. Marie, declined. - • . Bread T. H. Bell. Meat—C. Attfield.

There bring no tenders for milk or butter, the Visiting Committee were erapow red to arrange for the supply of same until the next ordinary meeting of committee. Resolved—That the animal meeting of subscribers be held in the Clyde Athenaeum on Saturday,. the 31st lost., at 2 p.m., and that the Treasurer, Secretary, and Surgeon be requested- to prepare their separate reports. A question arose as to what constituted a subscriber. On reference to the rules it was seen that all persons giving LI or upwards were subscribers, and as no time for payment was specified, it was understood that all persons paying up to the hour of meeting would be entitled to vote. _ The meeting then closed.
