Lawyers and Lawyers.— The serene atmosphere of the Legislative Council was temporarily disturbed the other afternoon by a little squabble. Mr Reynolds, in the discussion on the Law Practitioners Bill had asserted that more disreputable persona could not be found than some of those connected with the law. Mr Buckley considered this remark an insult to the le<ml profession, and wanted the words taken down • but the Attorney General declared hj aonin-’ ion that that the statement was unhappilv only t° true. After this observation from the head of the legal profession in the Colony, there was a manifest disinclination to puisne the subject further, and it was allowed to drop.
