It is proposed to form a woollen factory in Wellington with a capital of LSO, 000 in L 3 shares. A large number of shares are already taken up. The following amendment has been made in the by-laws of the Now Zealand railways “Any passenger joining a train at a booking station without having previously provided himself with a ticket will bo charged one shilling in addition to the ordinary fare.” The Christchurch Engineers, the City Guards, the Yeomanry Cavalry, and the Artillery have offered their services to the Government in the event of hostilities breaking out with the Maoris.
