A Sydney telegram of the 25th ultimo states that a fresh case of small-pox is reported. It has occurred at the house in the Surrey Hills in which the carpenter who died on the 17th was attacked, and which has been kept in quarantine. The carpenter’s child, who is confined with 13 others in the house, has now sickened with the disease.
The steamer Sorata sailed from Meibom ne on the 2oth ultimo for Sydney, from which port she will resume her running on the Orient line
ihe steamship Ocean, from Hongkong with 480 Chinese, arrived off the port of Sydney on the 25th ultimo, but did not enter, as she had been ordered on to Melbourne.
The Royal Princes arrived at Melbourne on the 25ih ultimo. They proceeded direct on hoard the Bacchante, on which vesse they will remain during their stay there. The Royal Princes were not accorded a public reception on their arrival at Melbourne on the 27th ultimo. They dined with Governor in the evening. A Sydney telegram of the 27th ultimo states that two fresh cases of small pox has been reported. The s.s. Ocean, with 480 Chinese has entered Port Jackson. She will be quarantined for 42 clays. Ihe Brisbane Government have wired their Agent General to arrange to send four thousand emigrants annually instead of two thousand as previously ordered.
