DUNSTAN PRESBYTERY.

The Dunstan Presbytery met in tho Court-house, Blacks, on Wednesday, 15th June. Sederunt.— The Revs. Messrs Smith, Lothian, and Blackie, ministers, and Mr Adam Holland, elder ; the Rev. Mr Smith, Moderator, in the chair. CHURCH SITE, CROMWELL. An application from the Treasurer of Cromwell congregation, asking the sanction of Presbytery to purchase section adjoining present church site, was read by the Clerk. After consideration, it was moved by the Rev. Mr Lothian, seconded by Mr Holland—That as the purchase of Section 30, Block 111, adjoining the church site at Cromwell is necessary for its completion ; and, also, for the security of the church, the Presbytery approve of the purchase of tho same. MISSIONARY FOR "LAUDER DISTRICT. The Clerk (Mr Rulland), as convener of Committee appointed at last meeting, gave in and read a detailed report of the Committee’s proceedings, from which it appeared that they had visited and consulted with the people at St Bathans, Cambrians, Matakanui, Blacks, etc ; and that they had made satisfactory arrangements for the settlement of Mr Morris as resident missionary. On the motion of the Rev Mr Blackie, seconded by the Rev Mr Lothian, it was agreed—That the report be adopted; that the Presbytery approve of the arrangement entered into as regards Mr Morris ; that application be made to the Church Extension Committee for the usual grant; that the question of erection of a cottage manse be deferred in tho meantime ; and that tho Presbytery accord its thanks to the Committee, and especially to the convener, for their diligence and faithfulness in connection with the matter. AGED MINISTERS FUND. Mr Holland moved, and Mr Lothian socc nded—That kirk sessions be requested to consider regulations anent aged and infirm ministers’ fund, and to report at next meeting ; that the Presbytery consider the subject at next meeting ; and that meantime the Clerk be requested to obtain all necessary information from Synod Clerk. CONGREGATIONAL RECORDS. It was agreed that the records of Managing Committees and kirk sessions within tho bounds be brought up for examination at next meeting of Presbytery. CORRESPONDING MEMBERS OF SYNOD. The Moderator mentioned that there was not a member of the Presbytery on any of the Synod’s Standing Committees, and it was agreed that the Clerk should bring tho fact under the notice of the Synod Clerk. VOTE OF THANKS. At the conclusion of business, the Presbytery resolved to record its thanks to Warden Robinson for his kindness in granting the use of tho Court-house to hold their meeting. ADJOURNMENT. The Presbytery then adjourned, to meet at Blacks on Wednesday, the 21st September.
