At Wellington, recently, the proprietor of an hotel was fined LI for leceiviug a ring in pledge for drink supplied. A Ohristohuroh telegram of the 28th ultimo states that Dan O'Brien, the wellknown jockey, fell (off the express train, and had the whole of his toea of one foot o it off.
Sydney Stock, a young man not long from England, and employed on tho Mountaineer steamer, fell overboard at Queenstown on thn 28th ultimo. Ho was seen to fall. He sank iu six fathoms without making an effort to save himself. The body was recovered.
