BRITISH AND FOREIGN. (From Exchanges.) London, October 18th. Agrarian outrages continue to occur frequently in various parts of Ireland. One of a serious nature was committed to-day near Bantry. A landlord was driving into that town in a carriage, when he was tired at by a party of men. The shots missed their intended victim, but the coachman was shot dead on his seat. Paris, October 20th. In consequence of the action which is being taken by the French Government to carry out the March decrees and complete .the expulsion of the membeis of all unauthorised religious orders residing in France, the leaders of the order of Carmelites have determined to contest at law the legality of the action of the Government in ordering their expulsion. London, October 20th. The Government offer a reward of 1,1000 f -r the discovery of the perpetrators of the outrage near Pantry yesterday which re suited in the death of the driver of a carriage, containing a landlord who was attacked. - In consequence of recent agrarian outrages the County of Kerry has been proclaimed a disturbed district. A very severe snowstorm has fallen Ih-ou.-bout England. Tripkctt and haycock have gone to the Isle of Wight, where they will continue to train for their matches. His Majesty the Czar is recovering from his illness. Madrid, October 22nd. A heavy shock of earthquake was experienced thionghout. Spain and Portugal today, but no damage to property was caused. London, October 22ud. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,721,U0D quarters. October 25th. Mr Parnell made a speech at Galway, in which he stated that ho considered the House of Lords ami Mr Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, were answerable for the murders which have been committed. He further believed that the solo remedy for the state of affairs which at present existed in Ireland was local autonomy. Nk\v York, October 23 d.
The attempt which was made by the Powers to mediate between Chili ami I’eii for the purpose of terminating hostilities has proved a failure. The tribes of predatory Kurds have renewed their ravages in Persia, and have pillaged a number of villages and massacred mauy inhabitants.
October 25th. In consequence ot the serious nature of the action which is being taken by the Irish Land League and the increasing agitation in Ireland, the Government have deckled to prosecute Messrs Parnell, Dillon, Kelly, Bigger, Sexton, T. Sullivan, A. M. Sullivan, T. S O’Connor, and A. O'Connor, all members of the House of Commons, together with the officers of tho League, for conspiracy. It is rumored that the trial will take place in London. (From the Melbourne Dailies.)
The English journals impress strongly upon the Government the imperative duty of enforcing the law, and the suppression of all attempts at disturhance.
Agrarian outrages still continue in the west of Ireland. Strong reinforcements of military and police have been sent to that part of the country, which is now under a state of martial law.
It is known that there are five peers marked for shooting in Ireland.
