CLYDE CALEDONIAN SPORTS
These sports came off yesterday at Clyde. The weather was everything that could bo wished, though the dust was rather troublesome. The attendance was very large, visitors from far and near being there. The first event came off soon after one o’clock, and the various contests were kept up with spirit till dusk. Bagpipes, with which Caledonian Games are inseparable, were uncommonly well played by Mr Mackay during the afternoon. Mr Holt supplied the refreshments, and appeared to be well patronised. The arrangements throughout were good, and refiner, credit on the Committee who took the sports in hand. No mishap occurred to mar the enjoyment of both spectators and contestants, and so far as we Could hear, everybody enjoyed themselves. The following are the results of tne various contests ; 1. This was a very good game and generally enjoyed, there being 10 entries. B Cnrline and Hogan dividing Ist and 2nd prizes. 3. Flat Rack, 150 yards.
