Order Paper For ordinary meeting, to be held on Wednesday, the 22nd hist. No. 1. By Councillor Greonbank.—That inasmueh'as the gold duty is acknowledged to be an obnoxious tax, and presses hardly and unjxstly on the principal revenue pro ducera of the County, the Council, to shew its sense of the injustice of the same, and in part to remedy it, do he eby resolve to give a bonus of one shilling per ounce on all gold th» produce of Vincent Comity. This reso utioii to be null and void in the event of the General Assembly abolishing or reducing the present duty. No. 2. By Councillor Pyke— That this Council, recognizing the claims of the Otago Benevolent. Institution to general support, resolves to appropriate the sum of £ per annum, payable in half-yearly instalments of equal amount, towards the maintenance thereof. No. 3. By Cr Naylor—That the Engineer be requested to prepare plans and specifications for the erection of the Clyde Bridge, and that tenders fur (lie same lie called for, to be dealt with at the next ordinary meeting. No. 4. By Councillor Pyke—That a further sum of £4OO be approp'ia'ed towards the construction of the Pipeclay Sludge Channel, to be expended under the direction and supeiiuteudeuce of the County Engineer. No. 5. By Councillor Pyke—That the sum of £3OO he appropriated for repaiting and improving the Cromwell-Fevis road.
