The fnll*>vvin<jt bud iesa of local importance was traiisnoted at the meeting of tho Board held ou Wednesday, September 5. The Land Officer at Clyde, transmitted a letter from Mr C, Colclough, on behalf of some Chinese, objecting to tho present cemetery site at Nevis as being in too close proximity to their dwellings. Referred to the Chief Surveyor, with a view of carrying out the wishes of the Chinese if he can do so without prejudice to tho community at large. The following applications to purchase under agricultural leases were approved : J. F. Kitching, section 45, block 1., Bonger; John M‘Donough, sections 6 and 10, block 1., Cairn Hill; Robest Leslie, sections 8 and 49, block 1., Cairn Hill; William Waugh, section 40, block 1., 29 end 30, 28, 40 and 41, and 33, block 111., Bengcr. Tho following applications for exchange of agricultural for deferred payment leases were approved—John White, sections 44, 45, and 40, block 1., Cairn Hill; Patrick M‘Gettigan, section 20, block I, Cairn mu.
