(Evening Post, August 30.) In tho passenger list of the Ringarooma, we notion the name of Mr R. S. Smvthe, ■described by the American Press aa “ the most travelled manager in the world,” and who introduced Madame Arabella God dan’, Miss Christian, and other artistes to this country'. Mr Smvthe, who accompanied the Rev. Charles Clark to the Centennial, and through the United States and Canada, has returned to the colonies by the Lusitania, to arrange anther tour for the eminent lecturer. It was in New Zealand, nearlv three years ago, that Mr Clark commenced that brilliant platform career wdiich induced him to give up pulpit ministrations, except ,n aid of some charitable object; and during that interval, in Australia. America, and England, according to tbe Christian World, his reception has been equally enthusiastic wuh that accorded to him in this country, ■since he was last hero, Mr Clark has made several additions to his list of entertain, meuts, which now includes lectures on the Tower of London, Charles Dickens (two lectures), Oliver Goldsmith, Christmas in Chi England, Thackeray. Oliver Cromwell, Westminster Abbey, the Merrie Monarch, and Maeaiilay. The last fire lectures have not been delivered in New Zealand. Mr Claik is expected at Auckland by the next Californian mail steamer, so that bo may he looked for in Wellington in about a ’south[We hear that Clyde will be inrinded in the Southern tour of tbe celebrated lecturer, elocutionist and humorist.]
