CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the above Council was held on Wednesday evening, the 2nd instant. Present— r> . Naylor, Esq. ("Mayor), in the chair, and Councillors Beck, Hueston, and Cox. The minutes of previous meeting wera read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and adopted. The inward, from Winton, asking for Bye laws of Clyde ; from Mr How Johns, asking on what terms the Council will rent two acres of Municipal Deserve on the West Bank of Molyneux, for a term of 14 years ; from Library Committee, asking the Council to place them in possession of the new Library Building. The Town Clerk was instructed to reply to letter from Winton. The other letters were ordered to stand over to the next meeting. Discussion took place on the necessity for the construction of a bridle track from the town of Clyde to the gold workings and farms in the Wia Keri Kcri Valley. 1 1 was eventually resolved—That Jas, Hazlett, Esq., M.P.C., he requested to urge on tho Government to place (say L 100) on the estimates for the track ; and also to urge on the Government tho necessity of at once commencing with the approaches to tho bridge. Accounts to the amount of LSS 15s 4d were passed for payment. The resignation of Or M'Connochio for Eastward was accepted, and the Town Clerk was instructed to arrange to fill the vacancy.
