Sir I will feel obliged by your inserting the accompanying letter in your open columns fot - tne information of the miners of the Dunstau district, comment on my part is needless. Sir I have been requested by Messrs Stephen Read and party of Tinker’s to inform you that they have been servo 1 with a writ at the suit of Mr Glassford, the runholder, to compel them to discontinue running tailings into Thomson’s Creek, and to recover l.Otlflf. damages against them, and they, (whilst instructing me to act for them professionally) seek to know whether the Mining Association cither locally or jointly wi„h the other Associations will assist them in their defence Dr otherwise. if you require it I can show you a Copy of the Writ, &c.
