EARLY CLOSING.

—o = (TO the editor op the DUS'STAN times.) Sir, —It is customary in most townships of this Province to close places of business at seven o’clock in the evening, to allow employees time far healthy recreation in one way or another. Most of the merchants and tradesmen in Dunedin close at s * x except on Saturdays, when they close at nine which I consider is very proper, as by doing so it gives all who are engaged in mercantile and other pursuits time °for improvement, both mentally and physically, which they would otheiwise be debarred from if business men insisted upon not closing until nine or ten o’clock. I am sorry that the plan is not adopted in Clyde, for I find that the stores and shops are kept open here until nine, or after, thus having a serious tendency of injuring the health of those employed, and hindering them from partaking of their share of innocent enjoyment which may from time to tune be got up for the benefit of the citizens. Hoping wo see this state of things rectified—--1 am, &c.. Observer. Clyde, August 12, 1874. Holloway’ Pills.-a certain Ashmatic Complaints.-The astonishing effects those wonderful pills produce in the above class of diseases would appear incre.' ibble if the truth were not confirmed by so many living witnesses ; scarcely a day passes without some one making favorable mention of these extraordinary, pills, „ n q their wonderful efficacy in all complaints. Indeed, there cannnot be any doubt but that they will restore to health after every ether means have failed, and will be found a certain antidote for most of the disorders affecting the human system.
