Weights to be declared on the night of the first day’s racing ; the remainder of the sweep to be paid not later than 11 o’clock on Wednesday, the 18th of March, at the Shamrock Hotel. Second horse to receive 5 sovs. from the stakes. Distance, one mile and a half. OPEN RACE Of 5 Sovs. Catch weights. Once round the course. Post entry, ss. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No person shall he allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this meeting unless such horse be the bona tide property of a subscriber of not less than one guinea ■to the race funds (Hack Race, Open Race of 5 sovs., aud I rotting Race excepted). Entiauces for the Maiden Plate, Flying Handicap, aud Nevis Handicap will bo received by the Secretary, at the Shamrock Hotel, not later than 8 p.m. on the 9’ hj of March, and nominations for the Nevis Jockey Club Handicap same date. Weights for Flying Handicap and Nevis Handicap to be declared at the Kawarau Hotel, Cromwell, and at the Port Phillip Hotel, Clyde onthe 11th of March; and advertised nr the Uunstan Times on March 13. All horses entered for tho District Maiden Plato, Flying Handicap, Packers’ and Miners’ Purse, and Trotting Race must he Nevis horses, arid tire bona tide property of residents in the Nevis Valley six weeks before the races. No entry will be roceivcd for any of the above races except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of tho racing shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint, aud such decision shall be final. Jockey costume insisted upon, and any jockey riding in colors other than those entered will be fined two guineas. D.instan Jockey Club Rules adhered to as far as practicable.
