—o—(Before W. L. Simpson, Es.;.) Thomas Wilson applied to purchase his piesent holding of one hundred acres on Bun. On behalf of the objectors, Messrs. Hast!-', M’Natly and Co., miners, Mr. J, J. Willis Bankoad gave evidence to she effect that he had prospected ground in the vicinity of the land applied for, and that he obtained about two ounces >-f gold for about one week’s woik. Vas prospectin' about a fortnight. This was some three years ago, and the prospects obtained Were not sufficient to induce him to o n'inuc working. With a large body of water ntvi proper appliances the thing might be different. The gold, so far as as ho had prospected, was in a baud of cement, about a font thick.
