RESIDENT 'MAGISTRATE'S COURT CLYDE.
Thursday, Jan. 8. (Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., R.M.) Cox v. Young.—Claim for LB, board and lodging. Judgment for the amount claimed and costa. Samev. Quinn. —This was a suit to recover the sum of £lO sterling for b reach of agreement. The agreement being insufficiently stamped the case was dismissed. 3 Dickie v. Waghorn. Ko appearance. . Mellor v, same. —No appearance. Theresa Goss was charged with vagrancy, having no lawful visible means of support. The accused being well known to the police, and having previously made her conge to the Bench* was, as a kind of salutary les-son,-sentenced-to one mouth’s hard labor in Dunedin Gaol. WARDEN’S ] COURT. —o—[(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq,, Warden.) E. Wilde applied for a residence area in Connew’s Gully. The application was opposed, on the ground that land would be wanted for' mining. Tko Warden said the land applied for had not been sufficiently tested to prove its worth, and consequently refused the application.
