—o— The adjourned monthly meeting of the Co nmittee of Management was held in the Committee room, Town {Hall, Clyde, on Tuesday evening last, the 12th inst. Preseat: James Hazlett, Esq, President, in the o'lair, and Messrs. Simpson, Ma>-slall, Naylor, Cambridge, Auckland, Holt, and Faohe (Secretary). The minutes of former meetings wore readjand confirmed. Inward correspondence was read and received—inclndiuafaUetter from the Ciom- ■ wdl Local Committer, in reference to an ambulance waggon being procured ; from the Ilesident Surgeon, stating that he had suspended the servants ; and others of an unimportant character. The outward correspondence was read and adopted. The President said that when in Dunedin, in company with the Treasurer (Mr. Ci ids tophers), he saw some members of the Government, in reference to the ambulance waggon. They spoke favoia’dy of it, and suggested that the attention of the Government 1)0 formally drawn to the matter. Resolved, That the Secretary reply to the Cromwell Local Committee, to the effect that an application would he made to the Government for assistance towards purchasing the same. The Secretary was instructed to ob’aiu estimates of cost. . The President explained that on receipt of a letter from the Ilesident Surgeon, respecting the suspension of the servants, he convened a meeting of the Committee, at which he requested the Surgeon to attend; that at the meeting, after hearing thejeauses of complaint, it was resolved that Mr. aud Mrs. Russell be given a month's warning Resolved, Tlrat the action taken relative to the Wardsmau and Matron be approved of, and that an advertisement he inserted in the Dtmslan Tones, calling for a man to cook aud otherwise make himself useful ; salary at the rate of CO.', per annum. The Visiting Committee’s No. 2 reportrccommeuding payment of accounts to the amount of 121/. 15s. 6d., for salaries and supplies, was read aud received. The Honorary Treasurer reported as follows RECEIPTS. Unpaid accounts ... .. £290 17 2 The Surgeon’s report, ,as follows, was read and received : Patients admitted during the month, 7 ; discharged, 9; die', j 1 ; remaining in Hospital, G ; average in- | door patients, 8 ; out-patients attended, It); attendances on same, 11. } The Surgeon, in his report, referred to the fact of one of the patients being supplied some patent medicine, and submitted that such a broach of the inlos should not be allowed to pass unnoticed. The Secretary was instructed ; to inform the Surgeon that the Committee notice his remarks relative to supplying patients with medicine, and that they approve of the same. Mr. W. L. Simpson brought up his'notico of motion that tenders for supplies, &c., be invited for a term of six months, instead of for three .months as formerly. Mr. Auckland was elected a;[momhcr of the visiting Committee. 3he Secretary stated, that ’Mr. John P. Armstrong had consented to give "a lecture in aid of the funds of the Institution. He now asked that the C< mmittec should fix a date, &c. After some discussion, it was appointed to take place jon Wednesday evening, the 20th inst., ami the price of admission to be 2s. Ga.
