— o — Usual monthly meeting of the Committee of management was held in the Committee Boom, Town Hall, on Monday evening the sth instant. Present, James Hazlett, Esq., President, in the Chair, and Messrs. W. L. Simpson, Cambridge, Holt, Naylor, Stevens, Marshall, Auckland, A. Christophers, Treasurer, andGr. Fache, Secretary. The minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence was read, received and adopted. The Visiting Committee’s report No. 1 was read and received. Report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts, amounting to 110/. 2s. 7d. was read and adopted. The Treasurer’s report as follows, wfis read and received i—- , Receipts. Patients admitted during month 9 Died 1 Discharged 6 Remaining in Hospital 11 Gaily average of Indoor patients 10 Number of outdoor patients attended to 9 Attendances of same 13 The patients admitted were from Alexandra, 4; Spear Grass Flat, 1; Galloway Station, 1 ; Conroys Gully, 1 ; Cromwell, 1; Garrick Range, 1. The report after dealing with the supply of stores, etc. to the institution, the recommending of several alterations and additions conducive to the health of the patients stating that the patients at present in the Hospitalareprogrcssing favorably; concluded by explaining that the increased consumption of wines and milk is owing to a number f patients’ requiring extra support and nourishment. A list of instruments required for the institution as supplied by Dr. Stirling, was placed on the tabic and handed to the Committee, who were appointed to report as to what instruments are required. Resolved, That the Surgeon’s report be referred to the Visiting Committee. Resolved, That the Secretary write to Dr. Stirling, and draw his attention to clause 17 of the rules and regulations of the institution. The Secretary was instructed to inform John Coombcr that the Committee cannot recognise his account. Also, to apply to the late patients Jones and Donegal!, for amounts respectively due by them for maintenance and attendance whilst in hospital. Mr. J. E. Stevens was elected a member of the Visiting Committee, vice Mr. B. Naylor, retiring. The Secretary w-as instructed to write to the 1 own Council with respect to_the supply of water to the Hospital.
