CLYDE SCHOOL.
A committee me r ting was held at the Public Library on Monday the 25th ultimo, at 8 30. ? p.m. Present, Messrs. Rankin, M'Connocliic, Hazlett, Christophers, Clark and t Idridge. Mr. M'Oonnoohie occupied the Chair. The minutes of tho last monthly tueot’ng Was road and c nfirmed The follow ng letters were road and received, vis. —from Inspector of Schools, dated October 30, 1572 ;frora tho Secretary of the Board, dated Nov. 19, 1872 ; and from the Schoolmaster, asking for the use of the School-room for night classes. Unsolved, —That the Schoolmaster’s request be granted. The Schoolmaster’s report for November was read and re. eived. Proposed by Mr. Uazlett, seconded by Mr, Rankin, and carried—That the average daily attendance of pnpi's having reached fifty, application be made to the Board for 231. yearly salary allowance for a sew n? mi tress. The following accounts were passed for payment—J. Tyrrell, for repairing tank and stove-pipe, 11. 6s. CJ. ;B. Naylor, window blinds 11.- Ss. ; D. M’Connochio, making them, 10a. ;A. Paiker, cleaning and repairing ch ck, 15s. ; A. B. Livingston, for School-books, 11. 4i 7d It was left to the Clerk to arrange with the Schoolmaster, regarding the sale of the books included in the last account. Proposed by Mr. Uazlett, seconded byMr. Rankin, and carried—That taking into Cimsiderati n, the School’s financial position and that tho present Master has only been in charge for four months, the presentation of Prizes lie postponed. Propos dby Mr. Aldridpe, seconded byMr. Hazlett and carried-That the School break up for the Christmas vacation on Friday, December 20, and re-open on Monday, January 13, following. Proposed by Mr. Rankin, seconded byMr. Aldridge and; carried—That Messrs Hazlett and M‘oonnochie be empowered to have the School-room, near tho chimneys, made water-proof, and to purchase two casks and a water-can. A discussion, initiated by Mr. Hazlett, ensued regarding making an allow ance for fees paid monthly or quarterly in advance, and it was agreed to delay taking action until next meeting, so that the rate of discount might be fairly equalized and calculated. After a vote of thanks to ths Chairman, tho meeting adjourned.
