CROMWELL TOWN COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Council washel 1 on July the sth instant. Present, the Mayor, and Councillors Burres and Kelly. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed.

It was resolved upon the motion of Councillor Kelly, seconded by Councillor Burros that Mr. Badger’s account for attending the Wardens Court, Corporation v. Counellan and party, be not paid until the case is finally settled. Resolved upon the motion of Councillor Kelly, seconded by Councillor Burros, that the Council is unable to grant Mr. Goodger’s application to fence in a portion of the River hank to plant tress and form a garden. The Public Works Committee report that they have inspected the hack premises of Messrs Barry and Shanly, and they cannot recommend any steps to be taken in the matter at present, in the way of getting rid of the nuisance complained of. It was resolved upon the motion of Cr. Kelly, seconded by Council'or Burres, that the Town Clerk write to Mr. Cornelius Maher and request him to remove his present building from off its present site, and that Mrs. Gibbs be also requested to cause her old tent to ho removed.

The day of nomination for Mayor, Councillors and Auditors was fixed for Saturday the 17th instant. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the business of the meeting.
