ALEXANDRA TOWN COUNCIL.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Council was held on Friday evening last. Present Councillors Beresford, (in the Chair) Jack, Hillhouse, and Theyers. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
The correspondence was read and received.
A statement of the receipts and expenditure for the half year ending 30th June 1809, was laid on the table by the Town Clerk. It was on the motion of Councillor Jack referred to the Finance Committee—the statement shewed a balance at credit in Bank of £llß S 1.
On the motion of Cr. Hillhouse, seconded by Councillor Jack; the Works Committee were ordereil to report as to necessity of chanelling and gravelling Limerick Street. The Town Clerk mentioned for the information of the Council, that the quicks for the Cemetery fence had arrived, and were being planted in the ground round the fence.
The meeting then adjourned to that day fortnight.
