ledge receipt of letter, and to intimate that requests made were granted. The President, Treasurer, and Secretary wore authorised to draw up the annual ro. port to be laid before a Congregational Meeting on Tuesday, 30th March, in the Church. Resolved, That this Committee nominate J. Smith, Esq., as a candidate for election to represent the Dunstan District in the Synod. A long and animated discussion relative to Dr. Jonner, his opinions, intentions, and the treatment he had received since he had arrived in the province, took place. Ultimately it was resolved, Tnat, in the opinion of this Committee, a grievous wrong has been done Dr. Jonner and to the members of the Church of England by the refusal of the Primate of New Zealand to allow Bishop Jenner to officiate in his ministerial capacity whereby the members of the Church have been deprived of the opportunity of fairly judging of Dr. Jenner’s fitness to occupy the position of Bishop of Dunedin. The Secretary was instructed to forward copies of the foregoing resolution to the Primate of New Zea'and, Bishop Harper, and to Dr. Jcnner. The usual vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the proceedings.
