We do not identify ourselves with the opinions that iray bo expressed by our correspondents. THE ALEXANDRA TOWN COUNCIL AND MR. WARDEN PYI'E. (To the Editor of the Dusstan Times.) Sir,—ln the last issue of your Taper there appeared the re’ ert of a special meeting held on the loth inst., by the Town Council of Alexandra, in which report it was state 1 that a dre 'pe was laid up on account of the absence of Mr. Warden Pyke. Fran iuA.aiatitu receivtd I am led to
believe that the dredge referred to is one owned by me. Now, Sir, the Town Council having taken the liberty of interfering in my private affairs, and cansed a false report to be published, I consider it my duty, in justice to the Warden, to contradict the said report. My dre ige was laid np at my own pleasure, Mr. Fyke’s absence having nothing whatever to do with it. I would a vise the Town Councillors of Alexandra to confine themselves in future to the affairs of their Municipality, an.i not interfere in mining matters. I am, &c., F. D. SIEDEBERG. Alexandra, Oct 28, 1868.
