ALEXANDRA. TOWN COUNCIL.

The adjourned meeting of the Town Council was held in the Council Chambers on Monday evening, the 12th inst. Present; the Mayor, and full Council. The Minutes of hist meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence read and received. A letter from his honor the Superinten. dent was read, stating the town of Alexaunra was proc aimed a licensing District. A letter was also read from Secretary of Land and Works, stating that the Government were in treaty with Messrs. M'Laren, Greig, and Co., for 5000 acres between Alexandra and the Wai Keri Keri Creek, as a Commonage. The Assessment Roll as made by Messrs. Camming and Chappel the Valuators waa 1 dd on the table. Cr. Berresford propose ! that the Assessment bo allowed, and that the Town Clerk give publicity of such allowance ia the usual manner. Seconded by Cr. Theyers and carried. The meeting adjourned, after according the usual vote to the Chair. I
