CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

The usual fortnightly meeting, of the Council was held in the Council Chambers/ : on Tuesday evening hist, the 13th inst. • ■ ■ Present: tlje Mayor, and fujl Council.' , The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed. Inward and outward correspondence were received. Several applications to erect posts, &c.,i were referred to the Public Works Committee;" ■ ■' : Cr. Fehuul, as a member of the deputa- 1 tion appointed to wait on his Honor the Superintendent, respecting the surveying of a wator-rW from the Liu Us, the commonage, and other business reported that" the-deputation were well received, and his lla -| or state! the different subjects should receive the especial attention of him and his executive. Cr M'Connochie proposed That the Council disposed the prerent Town Hall and Council Chambers, and erect a new building on the reserve. Seconded by Cr. Feraud Cr. Hastie proposed as an amendment, That the present buildings be sold and a suitable one erected on its site. Seconded by Cr. Cambridge and carried. On'the motion of Cr. M.Conpochie, it was resolved. That the Council memorialise his Honor the Superintendent, praying that, the head quarters of the District Engineer be at Clyde. Seconded by Cr. Atkins and carried. ; . It was resolved, That the meetings of the Council in future be held on Wednesdays and not on Fridays as formerly. Propose ! by Cr. Hastie, secondel by Cr. Zieleand carried, That tenders be called' for the purchase of the Town Hair and Council Chambers. Vote to the chair closed the meeting;
